gotta love some grace

Happy Home Life Tip #32

Give yourself some grace.

That’s what I did this week while my house entered a new stage of construction…or should I say destruction?

My husband and I have been refurbishing our circa 1772 Vermont home since June 30 of last year. As you can tell by the photos, it’s far from done.

And that’s okay.

I’m choosing to think,

We are not behind schedule.

We are not wasting money even though building prices went up.

We are not living in a mess.

We are not crazy to take on this project.

We are human.

We retired from long careers in hospitality to work on this together.

We plan to thoroughly enjoy living here and to someday host small, group coaching retreats for women.

It’s totally worth it, and we are all in.

I remind myself to look for the best, and the humor, in each and every part of the project. Notice the cool original clapboards we found in the wall (middle left photo) yesterday!

If you’re going through a big project too, or just feel very busy, you can view it as overwhelming, or messy, or wrong, or a mistake or too much…or you can give yourself some grace.  You have total control over how you want to feel about it. Why not choose something that makes you feel great?

If you’d like some help with turning around overwhelming and negative thoughts, so you can feel some grace and relief, I’m here for you.

You deserve to enjoy all the parts of your life, even if you’re renovating a really run down house!

Hugs,

Krista

PS: And the best part of our house project…it has an awesome view and is only 2 miles away from our son and daughter in-law’s house where they are expecting our first grand baby!
