make time to…

Happy Home Life Tip #14

Make time to bake…

or dance,

or crank up “your song”,

or play your favorite game,

or whatever it is that means “home” for you

Home for us has always been freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.

When our kids smelled cookies it meant there was something to celebrate, or Mom was feeling extra home-y, or Dad was having a challenging day (he ran a big resort, which came with big problems).

Since last June (2021), we’ve been been living rough, without an oven, while renovating a circa 1772 Vermont farmhouse.

The oven had to wait until our new kitchen space was renovated.

So we’ve had to create a new feeling of “home”, (while literally creating our new home).

We picked a song that reflects our project and crank it up while we work.

But on Friday our oven was hooked up!!

Bet you can you guess the first thing I made!

Today I’m listening to our new favorite song and munching cookies.

Yum.

Make sure you take time today for old traditions and new memories.

And, of course, if you’d like some help creating the home of your dreams, I’m here for you.

Hugs,
Krista

PS: Our new song is Hell of a View, by Eric Church…most are shocked to hear we’re living in this fixer-upper, but it has great potential, and a hell of a view—of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack mountains.

We crank it up, dance around, admire the view…and now, munch warm cookies!
